Supporting adults and older adults – face to face, online and by telephone

How Counselling Can Help You

Are you feeling anxious, isolated, lonely, depressed, have suffered a loss or bereavement, are feeling overwhelmed with life, work, health, family or other difficult relationships?

Do you maybe feel unclear what the reason is, or are unsure how to go about dealing with it? I would invite you to consider whether some counselling sessions with me might be just the right step forwards for you.

What is Ecotherapy?

Ecotherapy provides a means to explore the challenges you are facing at present, connecting with nature to gently support you through the counselling process. It provides an opportunity to reflect on our surroundings and the examples the natural world provides, whether walking side by side or sitting on a bench together.

The heaviness of life cannot prevent the power of nature from supporting you on your journey, however difficult things may feel for you at this time.

Below are a few examples of difficulties and challenges that people may bring to sessions, but you can bring whatever is troubling you to our counselling sessions.

Why Seek Counselling?

People access counselling for many reasons at different times in their lives. I believe that there is no issue or topic that is too big or too small to bring to me to discuss and explore. I have accessed counselling myself for various reasons and always find it helpful and comforting, feeling valued and accepted in a safe and confidential space.

I feel honoured to be trusted and given the opportunity to work with you on your journey towards better mental health and wellbeing, whatever your reason for wanting to talk to me.

Who is it for?

I work with adults and older adults who may be feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or simply in need of a space to talk.

Our journey together will help you to navigate anxiety, low mood, relationship difficulties, isolation or life transitions. Counselling or Ecotherapy offers a safe, confidential space to explore what's going on for you and find a way forward at your own pace.

Issues supported

I support people with a wide range of concerns. You may be facing challenges in relationships, family, or struggling with grief, loss, or past domestic abuse.

I also work with issues around trauma, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and life changes such as work pressures or retirement. Whatever you're carrying, counselling offers a safe space to explore things without judgment.

Nature is alive and talking to us. This is not a metaphor.

Testimonials

I can’t recommend Sue enough. Such a warm, supportive, and non-judgemental, space where I’ve felt genuinely heard and understood. Every session has helped me grow in confidence, process difficult emotions, and move forward with a more positive outlook. Thank you for making such a difference.

Jemma, 43

Sue has been my Counsellor through caring and the eventual death of my husband who had Alzheimer's. Our sessions always started and ended at our agreed times and to hear her beautiful calming voice is very comforting. She is a good listener and will suggest helpful ideas. I thoroughly recommend her.

Liz, 86

I was overwhelmed and facing emotional stress when I embarked on counselling sessions with Sue. She has gently guided me, picking up on my complex issues and helping me reach insights I was too overwhelmed to address. She has helped me find strategies and peace of mind.

Viv, 82

Sue created a safe, supportive counselling space where I always felt heard, helping me to reflect and find my own way through the challenges I was facing. Her empathy, patience, and thoughtful approach meant I came away from our sessions with a better understanding of myself and the confidence and clarity to move forward with purpose. I'm so grateful for my experience with Sue and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend her to anyone looking for a compassionate and supportive counsellor.

Charlotte, 30

Sue helped me to feel like everything was going to be okay, she managed to make sense of my words and thoughts and reflect them back to me, gently and compassionately so I could see my life and daily struggles with a new perspective. Multiple times I went into sessions feeling overwhelmed and deflated and I left with a new sense of enthusiasm for life and my journey.
